Same Day Agra Trip a Marvelous Trip to Agra

Taj Mahal tour is increasingly becoming popular because of being the host city of the world’s most beautiful marble building Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is a must see monuments in India.

Taj Mahal

Visit the magnificent monument of love – Taj Mahal at Sunset. The Taj Mahal built by an emperor in memory of his beloved queen Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631, and is believed to have taken 18 years to complete. With over 20,000 craftsmen working around the clock, the design and construction is said to be that of the legendary architect, Ustad Ahamad Lahori. Legend has it that once construction was completed

Red Fort
Mughal palace architecture reached its peak with the construction of the Red Fort at Agra. Built over many centuries under different regimes, it is the product of many different architects who each worked on only a small portion of the whole. To our eyes, this gives the Red Fort a Rather eclectic feel that is unified only by the ubiquitous red sandstone that gives the fortress its name. The Red Fort began its life in the 10th century as a simple mud and brick fortress along the banks of the Yamuna River

Itmad Daulah Tomb
Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb, located 2.4 km away from the Taj Mahal, is one of the most beautiful Mughal tombs of Baby Taj. Constructed during the reign of Emperor Jahangir, this tomb comprises cenotaphs of Mirza Ghiyas and Asmat Begum, who were parents of Mughal Empress Nur Jahan. The mausoleum is named after Mirza Ghiyas, who was given the title Itmad-ud-Daulah, which literally means pillar of the state.

Fatehpur Sikri
The beautiful yet abandoned capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. After ruling here for 15 years, he shifted his capital to Agra because of scarcity of water. The place is written in every Agra itinerary. It is worth visiting as each and every piece of structure says something about the time, about the people and about the place. To celebrate the birth of his son, Akbar named his son Salim after the saint. This Prince Salim was to grow up to become the renowned emperor Jahangir. When Prince Salim was two years old, Akbar went back to Sikri and started to build an architectural wonder of a historic town known as Fatehabad. This town was later to be known as Fatehpur Sikri. Imposing gateways and light- hearted palaces were built in red sandstone within this fortified city only to be abandoned a few years later.

Delhi
History of Delhi enumerates a saga of various dynasties like the Mughals, Khilji and Tuglaks who once ruled this city. The first ever evidence of Delhi can be traced back to the times of Mahabharata in 1400 BC when it was known by the name of Indraprastha. However, it is said that Anagpal Tomar first laid the foundation stone of the seven ancient cities of Delhi much before the 13th century.

Agra
Agra has found its mention in the famous Hindu epic Mahabharat as the forest of Agraban close to Mathura. Badal Singh founded the city in 1475. Sikandar Lodhi made Agra his capital city. Later, Babur defeated the Lodhis to capture the city situated on the banks of River Yamuna and thus, the long association of Mughals with Agra started. The Mughal love of architecture translated into beautiful monuments such as Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and Sikandra.

Jaipur
Jaipur has been popularized with the name of Pink City because of the color of the stone exclusively used for the construction of all the structures. Anyone who has witnessed the city can substantiate the fact that all the buildings of Jaipur are pink in color. The pink color has its own history. In 1876, the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria visited India on a tour. Since pink denotes the color of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the whole city pink in color to welcome the guests. The tradition has been sincerely followed by the residents who are now, by law, compelled to maintain the pink color.
